The project involved the demolition of the existing Victorian baths to create a new leisure centre. The ground was improved using vibro-compaction prior to the construction of the new centre comprising 25 metre swimming pool, teaching pool, 4 court sports hall, crèche, dance studio, 65 place gym together with a new café, wet and dry changing facilities, associated staff facilities, and basement plant rooms.

Huntley Cartwright provided a full Quantity Surveying Service for the redevelopment.  Early option appraisals were prepared to consider whether the existing centre should be refurbished or redeveloped.  Huntley Cartwright assisted the Council in obtaining a Sport England Grant towards the project cost.  We also managed the OJEU process for the selection of tenderers.  Detailed value engineering studies were also carried out on the design to achieve the best value to the Council.
